Last week, our teachers participated in 2 days of professional learning, where Principal Peterson kicked off the school year with our theme of "Kindness Grows Here". Our teachers engaged in self care strategies thanks to our wonderful counselor Ms. Barajas and dove into new Science, Social Science, and English Language Development Curriculum with enthusiasm. Our teachers even received much needed laptops to carry out their important work. We are thankful for all who fed our staff over the two days, including, our own cafeteria staff and our Solvang School Education Foundation (SSEF)! We love our teachers!

Today our youngest Vikings in TK/K got an opportunity to meet their teachers and become familiar with our school campus thanks to the Viking Voyage organized by our amazing TK/K team of teachers. We are so excited to welcome our students next week!
Our Dual Language Immersion Team gathered today for team-building and planning for the upcoming school year! We even had a special visit from Maestra Robles and Baby Paulina. We are thankful to Taco Roco In Solvang for lunch treats and gift certificates! ¡Vamos Vikingos Guerreros!
You and your new Viking are invited to the Kindergarten Viking Voyage! Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 10th 10:00 – 11:30 on the Kindergarten Patio. Come explore your new classroom, discover some of the important places on campus, meet your new teacher and earn your Viking armor in the form of a Solvang School tee shirt! The Solvang app is now available to download free from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. The app, presented in both English and Spanish, depending on your phone settings, will become our primary method of communication with our school community through the month of October, at which time we wil transition from Parent Square to the mobile app.
