Budget

Process & Deadlines:

Solvang School District fiscal calendar begins July 1st and ends June 30th of each year.

On or before July 1st, the District Board of Trustees adopts the district budget. Before the budget

is formally adopted, a public hearing is held in which the budget is presented. The proposed

budget must be available for inspection at least three days before the public hearing is held.

Interim budgets are prepared in December and March and must be approved by the

Board of Trustees, but no public hearing is required for the interims.

Budget deadlines for Board of Trustees approval:

Adopted Budget - July 1st

First Interim Budget - December 15th

Second Interim Budget - March 15th

Budget timeline:

25-26 Adopted Budget was available for public inspection on June 13, 2025.
Public Hearing for the proposed 25-26 Solvang School District Adopted Budget was held on June 18, 2025
Public Hearing for the 25-26 Disclosure of Balances in Excess of Minimum Reserve Requirements was held June 18, 2025
Board of Trustees approved the 25-26 Adopted Budget on June 25, 2025
Board of Trustees will review 25-26 First Interim Budget in December of 2025
Board of Trustees will review 25-26 Second Interim Budget in March of 2026
