Bond Oversight

Your Tax Dollars Supporting the Students of Solvang School!

Thanks to the generous tax support of the Solvang School Community, the students and staff are enjoying beautiful renovations to our district campuses.

Solvang voters passed Measure J by 61.6% in June 2006 which authorized $11,650,000 of General Obligation bonds to be issued and sold under State Proposition 39 for Solvang School to finance improvements.

In addition to Measure J, Solvang School District applied for state matching funds through the Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) and was granted three matching fund awards totalling $6,010,200.

Combining Ballot Measure J and OPSC matching funds, the Solvang School District has received a total of $17,660,200 to finance improvements on the district campuses.

Bond Oversight

As part of the Proposition 39 requirements, Solvang School established a Citizens Oversight Committee that met annually.  It was the responsibility of the Oversight Committee to assure that projects and expenditures were in accordance with the projects that appeared on the ballot and were approved by the voters.  All bond expenditures were audited annually by an independent audit firm.  The independent performance and financial audits were reviewed by the Citizens Oversight Committee.   All meeting agendas, minutes and audits are included in the links below.
