The Solvang School District Board of Trustees is made up of 5 members. School Board members are elected by registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the district. School Board terms are 4 years.  In applicable election years, vacancies are announced at the end of the school year. Those interested in running for a school board position must file appropriate paperwork with the County Clerk's office in the month of July.

School Board meetings are regularly scheduled on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6 pm (see schedule for exceptions*).  Meetings are held in Room 5 on the Lower Campus.


On May 14, 2007, the Solvang School Board of Trustees passed a resolution adopting the CSBA Professional Governance Standards for school boards. The standards are designed to enhance the public's understanding about the critical responsibilities, structure and function of a local school board.
